Transformative Projects Taking Shape Across the Park
Tower Grove Park has been alive with activity as we work to enhance the spaces our community loves most. The Common Ground Campaign has already brought to life projects and improvements that were once only ideas in the 2017 Master Plan. We are pleased to share that both the Pavilion Restoration and Facility Core projects are well underway.
The Lily Pond Shelter, Old Carriage, Humboldt South, and Cypress South pavilions are receiving much‑needed attention. Each of these historic structures had significantly deteriorated and required substantial stabilization and rehabilitation to continue serving the community. Restoration work will blend historically sensitive preservation techniques with modern methods. The anticipated completion date is Spring 2026—just in time for picnic season.
Construction of the Facility Core is also moving forward quickly. The Event Support Building is progressing well and will provide essential storage for Piper Palm House event equipment, a catering kitchen, a concession stand, a bike service station, and improved pedestrian access. Most importantly, it will include the Park’s most requested amenity: new public restrooms.
Just north of the Event Support Building, demolition and utility work have begun on the Director’s Croquet Garden. This project will transform an underutilized area into a vibrant gathering place, blending the elegance of Victorian gardens with modern amenities. The garden will host farm‑to‑table dinners, educational programs, weddings, and other special events.
Together, these revitalized spaces will allow Tower Grove Park not only to better serve current users but also to welcome many new visitors. They will create a dynamic hub for events and community gatherings, offering essential amenities for the public to enjoy. Equally important, they will mark the terminus of the Tower Grove Connector, linking the Park to the greater St. Louis region and inviting even more people to discover this treasured gem. Both projects are expected to be completed by summer 2026.
We are deeply grateful for the community’s support of the Common Ground Campaign. Your generosity is transforming Tower Grove Park in meaningful and lasting ways, helping us preserve its historic character while creating a more welcoming, accessible, and inspiring place for everyone.
