Debbie Monterrey has been working in radio since her student days at Truman State University (Kirksville, MO). Since then, her career has taken her to Greenville, South Carolina; Madison, Wisconsin; and Columbus, Ohio. In between she served as Press Secretary to Wisconsin Governor Scott McCallum before arriving in St. Louis in 2003 where she’s been a staple of morning radio at KMOX ever since. Debbie has been awarded two national Edward R. Murrow Awards for best newscast; five regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for best feature, hard news and sports feature reporting; two Missouri Broadcasting Awards; and a National Scene Award from SAG-AFTRA for her work highlighting diversity. She was named a 2022 Media Person of the Year by the St. Louis Press Club. Debbie is proud to live and work in St. Louis City and a tireless cheerleader for the region. She is president of the Tower Grove Park Members Council and serves on the Missouri Historical Society Board of Trustees.

Stable Tour

Take a tour of the historic stables at Tower Grove Park! In this members-only tour, you’ll get the chance to meet our Clydesdale, Moonshine, and our pony, Sheffield, and see the historic structure where they are housed and cared for. We’ll also discuss the history and founding of the Park as it relates to the stables and the many animals that have lived there. This is a great member-event for people of all ages!

The tour traverses gravel, grass, and wooden pavers in indoor and outdoor environments. There will be four 25-minute tours from 9:00AM-11:00AM.

Director’s Residence Tour

Take a tour of the historic director’s residence in Tower Grove Park! Enjoy this rare opportunity to explore this historic building that sits on the corner of Magnolia and Center Cross which is usually closed to the public. This members-only tour will highlight the director’s residence’s history, architecture, and the people who called it home.

This tour includes stairs to get into the building as well as two staircases inside the house. There will be two tours from 10:00 AM-10:40 AM and the second 11:00 AM-11:40 AM.

St. Louis Mapped: A History of the Gateway City in 8 Historic Maps

In the digital age, maps are more important and accessible than ever. But maps were just as important in the past. Through 8 maps spanning 250 years, this illustrated lecture tells diverse and fascinating St. Louis stories. Some of the maps featured are large, some quite small, others beautifully ornate or simply utilitarian. This lecture is a companion to the book released by Reedy Press in October 2024.
