Nature Night Film Series: Over the Hedge

Join us at the West End of Tower Grove Park for a summer series of free family fun and film screenings!  We’ll be showing family favorites that relate to the flora and fauna of Tower Grove Park.

Fun, educational hands-on activities and demonstrations that tie into the movie theme kick off at 6:30 pm.  The movie begins at 8:00pm sharp.

Our series line up includes The Lorax (Saturday, June 10), A Bug’s Life (July 15) and Over the Hedge (August 12).  There will also be a special screening of Wall-E with our Astronomy Festival on September 30.

Saturday, August 12: Over the Hedge

The film on Saturday August 12 is Over the Hedge (2006), which showcases forest animals interacting with suburban humans as their habitat is invaded.  The U.S. Forest Service, the Missouri Department of Conservation, St. Louis Zoo, Great Rivers Greenway, Tower Grove Park, St. Louis Public Library, Animal Care & Control, Wild Bird Rehab, Perennial and more will be on hand starting at 6:30 pm with a variety of educational activities and crafts for the family to enjoy, including a Raptor Basics show with live birds from World Bird Sanctuary from 6:30-7:15pm!

Food will be available from Cajun Seduction food truck from 7:00-9:00pm, with popsicles for sale from Pete’s Pops.

FAQ

LOCATION: Film screen will be setup on West Dr, facing east into the grassy field between the New Comfort Station and Stone Shelter. Navigate to either the Stone Shelter (4490 Northwest Dr, St. Louis, MO 63110) or New Comfort Station (4501 Southwest Dr, St. Louis, MO 63110) to find the location. Biking or walking is encouraged!

PARKING: Street parking is available along Northwest and Southwest Drive, or along the park perimeter on Magnolia and Arsenal.

SEATING: NO SEATS will be provided. Please plan to bring your own picnic blankets or chairs. To ensure everyone can see and enjoy the film, chairs will only be allowed in the back end of the field, which will be designated with signage.

RESTROOMS: Restrooms and water fountain are available on-site at the New Comfort Station.

FOOD: You may bring your own food and drink. Food will be available to purchase from Vine & Dash Food Truck from 6:30-9:00pm.
