Nature Night Film Series: A Bug's Life

Join us at the West End of Tower Grove Park for a summer series of free family fun and film screenings!  We’ll be showing family favorites that relate to the flora and fauna of Tower Grove Park.

Fun, educational hands-on activities and demonstrations that tie into the movie theme kick off at 6:30 pm.  The movie begins at 8:00pm sharp.

Our series line up includes The Lorax (Saturday, June 10), A Bug’s Life (July 15) and Over the Hedge (August 12).  There will also be a special screening of Wall-E with our Astronomy Festival on September 30.

Saturday, July 15: A Bug’s Life

The film on Saturday July 15th is A Bug’s Life (1998), which features a troupe of animated insects in battle to save an ant colony.  The U.S. Forest Service, the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Butterfly House, Great Rivers Greenway, Tower Grove Park, The Mighty Cricket, The Dunlap Lab at UMSL, St. Louis Wildlife Project, Webster Groves Nature Study Society - Entomology Group, Show-Me Green Schools, and Perennial will be on hand starting at 6:30 pm with a variety of educational activities and crafts for the family to enjoy! Enjoy a storytime from St. Louis Public Library at 7:00pm.

Food will be available from Vine & Dash Mediterranean Food Truck from 6:30-9:00pm, with popsicles for sale from Pete’s Pops.

FAQ

LOCATION: Film screen will be setup on West Dr, facing east into the grassy field between the New Comfort Station and Stone Shelter. Navigate to either the Stone Shelter (4490 Northwest Dr, St. Louis, MO 63110) or New Comfort Station (4501 Southwest Dr, St. Louis, MO 63110) to find the location. Biking or walking is encouraged!

PARKING: Street parking is available along Northwest and Southwest Drive, or along the park perimeter on Magnolia and Arsenal.

SEATING: NO SEATS will be provided. Please plan to bring your own picnic blankets or chairs. To ensure everyone can see and enjoy the film, chairs will only be allowed in the back end of the field, which will be designated with signage.

RESTROOMS: Restrooms and water fountain are available on-site at the New Comfort Station.

FOOD: You may bring your own food and drink. Food will be available to purchase from Vine & Dash Food Truck from 6:30-9:00pm.
