Wood Reutilization Program

The Forestry Team at Tower Grove Park is committed to reutilizing the wood waste generated from our operations. This not only helps reduce our department's carbon footprint, but also gives the trees that we remove a second opportunity to continue benefitting the park and its visitors.

How would we reuse this wood? Well, there are a variety of ways that we can reutilize the wood we acquire from tree removals, such as: dimensional lumber, garden arbors, benches, office furniture, trail features, art and gifts, tools, and much more.

This wood reutilization program will also eventually give way to an opportunity to educate youth groups and adults alike about how wood is processed from standing timber to the wood products we use every day.

Therefore, to bolster our wood reutilization efforts, our Forestry Team has been hard at work developing a wood shop to make this program a complete reality. Although there is still a long way to go and more tools and equipment to acquire, we have made some phenomenal progress working with what we have. We hope to have the ability to jumpstart our wood reutilization program within the year.
