Board of Commissioners elects Steven M. Scott to three-year term

The Board of Commissioners of Tower Grove Park has elected Steven M. Scott, President of SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, to a three-year term. His addition brings the number of Commissioners to 19, with varied backgrounds in business, finance, the arts, architecture, law, and human services. Currently celebrating its sesquicentennial year, Tower Grove Park is led by an independent Board of Commissioners that was created by Henry Shaw when he donated the Park to St. Louis in 1872.

“Steven brings to our Board a breadth of important leadership skills that will help us guide the Park into its second 150 years. His participation creates a tangible link between healthcare and urban greenspaces, which have become so much more evident in the past two years,” said Bob Herleth, President of the Board of Commissioners.

“I’m excited and grateful to join a Board of Commissioners that cares so deeply about the value and history of Tower Grove Park,” said Steven M. Scott, President of SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. “I look forward to further exploring the connection between healthcare and nature in this new role to better serve our community.”
