Thanks to the Trio Foundation and the Moog Family Foundation, for providing the initial funds to renovate the playground area at the Pool Pavilion.

Anyone who has driven past Tower Grove Park is aware of the popularity of its paths among walkers, joggers, and bicyclists, and of its athletic fields among soccer and football players. But, did you know that Tower Grove Park is also home to the only public grass tennis courts in the metropolitan area?

The twelve Tennis and Pickleball courts at Tower Grove Park are adjacent to the Henry Shaw Memorial Tennis Building, erected in 1952. The Shaw Tennis Building is home to a well-supplied pro shop and locker room facilities.

Due to the Tennis Court & Club House construction project scheduled this spring, there will be no official hours of operations.  Therefore, no membership sales, private or group programming/camps or drop-in classes offered until the project's full completion, which is targeted for June 30, 2017.
In the interim, the six courts along the south side, closest to the Pool Pavilion & Playgrounds, will be open and available on a first-come-first serve basis.

The renovations include 3 tennis courts and 8 pickleball courts on a new post-tension concrete surface on the north half of the facility. We are replacing windows and doors on the pro-shop and making the area between the courts and the building ADA-accessible. We are upgrading the lights on the existing courts so that evening and night play is possible.

Information regarding the Horseshoe pits

Tower Grove Park has, from its inception, been known as a natural refuge for birds of many different species especially during the spring and fall migrating seasons. The Park's life list is now well over 200, and serious birders from all over the metro area, and beyond, visit the Park regularly during those seasons.
